Lowering Cholesterol With a Good Diet and Exercise

High cholesterol is one of the most commonly treated medical conditions. It is more common in men younger than 55 years and in women older than 55 years.

Lowering Cholesterol with a Good Diet and Exercise is a lot easier than it sounds. Lets face it I don't know about you but the words diet and exercise sends chills up and down my spine. There is nothing I like better than a nice big steak and a baked potato with lots of sour cream and chives.

So we are lucky to be living in an age where we can have our cake and and eat it to.

You get that nice big steak and it's got that nice yellow strip of fat around the edge. Cut that fat strip off before you ever put it on the plate. Don't even think about eating that. The marbling in the meat is not enough to really to raise your cholesterol but that fat strip sure will. So instead of havering a 16 oz piece of meat cut down to an 8oz.

You want that baked potato well that in it self won't raise your cholesterol level but that big spoon full of sour cream will. So get the imitation sour cream taste the same, just read the label and make sure what's in it.

Oh ya the veggie like broccoli and Cauliflower yep you guessed it that won't raise you cholesterol but that cheese sauce sure will. Imitation time again as before take the time to read the label there's a lot of stuff out there that says it OK on the big label but when you get down to the ingredients label it's a different story.

A good practice is give your self an extra half an hour when you go shopping so you have time to read the labels and see whats in the stuff your buying. For warned is for armed.

Fried foods big No No. They absorb all that grease. Ya I know they taste better but you don't need the high cholesterol that's in them. A flame broiled hamburger is a lot better for you than greasy fried one.

We're lucky in that you don't have to fry anything anymore. There's machines that will cook with hot air and others that as its cooking the grease will run off and of course that micro wave that both will nuke the food and work as an oven.

Get rid of the skin on the chicken and if your a little squeamish about peeling the skin off well your in luck just get the skin less. Ya I know it cost more but it's worth not getting all the cholesterol you get with the skin on it,and aren't we lucky you can get nice lean pork, tastes the same as the fatty one but a lot better for you.

Processed foods yep I know it's a lot faster, but read the label and see what you get for your money a heart attack in a box.

Your not going to quit eating the foods that you like your just going take a look at what your eating and how it's prepared that's all.

You don't have to live on rabbit food to be health and you sure don't have starve you self on some silly diet that you won't stick to anyway.

Hey it's up to you do you want live a long healthy life or are give yourself a heart attack.

Let touch on exercise I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT GOING TO THE GYM 3 TIMES A WEEK AND THINKING YOUR PUNISHING YOUR SELF. Nope what I'm talking about is when you park your car don't see how close you can get to the door park at the other end of the lot walk a little bit, don't take the elevator walk up the stairs. You'll feel better about your self and feel better physically.

Why are you doing these simple life changing steps, because believe me you don't want be on some prescription drug that cost an arm and a leg and you really don't know what it will do to you long term.

High cholesterol is a chronic condition that increases in prevalence with age. It can occur at a young age, even in their teens. It can be controlled through lifestyle changes or if it is not enough, through medications. It can be controlled by exercising and changing your diet by eating more fruits and vegetables. High cholesterol is something that everyone must look out for.

Lowering your cholesterol intake and controlling your blood pressure are two of the best thing you can do to have a long healthy live.

As with anything that has to do with diet and exercise talk to your doctor first. . .
