Make A Healthy Change In Your Child's Diet - Introduce Soy Free And Nutrition Bars

It's only natural for parents to monitor their child's health. From how much television they watch to whether or not they eat their vegetables, keeping an eye out for them is just part of the job. What hasn't always been in that job description, though, is factors like cholesterol must be carefully monitored as well.

Keeping Those Numbers in Check

We've known for years that low cholesterol levels are an important part of good health in adults, but the idea that they're just as important in children is only just coming to light.

Starting in 1985, researchers followed over 500 young adults between the ages of 9 and 15 for 20 years monitoring weight, height, and waist circumference, as well as their cardio respiratory fitness levels. They kept track of lifestyle behaviors like smoking as well as socioeconomic factors.

What they found is that high risk children who made healthy lifestyle changes, like eating right and exercising, were at far less risk of high cholesterol counts as adults.

The Bottom Line

It's pretty simple really. Young children who may be at risk for having high cholesterol, thanks to lifestyle or genetics, can actually grow into healthy adults if they make simple changes to their diets. If no changes are made, the results suggest both body weight and, interestingly enough, the risk of smoking, goes up dramatically.

Healthy Eating In One Simple Package

It's very important to make sure that our children are eating healthy, but that can be a challenge in today's fast-food rat race. One of the easiest ways to instill good eating into them is to make sure that you provide them with tasty foods. Nutrition bars like our Nut Butter Buddha Crunch are soy free bars that are not only healthy, but that taste great as well. Stick one or two of them into your teen's backpack as a snack instead of chips or candy, and they'll definitely be making at least one healthy change.
