Low Calorie Food - Why Bland, Tasteless Low Calorie Food Can Help You Lose Weight

Low calorie foods are normally healthy and nutritious. When eaten as part of a balanced diet, they often help to maintain our weight and sometimes encourage weight loss. The problem however is that although they are good for us, they often taste bland or are tasteless. This is the reason why most people do not include low calorie food into their diet. To get around this problem, what you can do is to slowly ease low calorie foods into your everyday diet. In this manner, you won't feel the differences that much. In due time, consuming healthy low calorie foods is just a normal routine for you. Below are four (4) types of low calorie foods that you should add to your normal diet.

Vegetables

Now, most of us hate vegetables. Since young, we have grown used to disliking vegetables. They even made a cartoon to try to encourage us to eat more vegetables. That is why 'Popeye the Sailor Man' always have a can of spinach for emergencies. Of course, I won't expect you to start gobbling down cans of spinaches. Instead, we just use a little creativity towards enhancing the taste of vegetables. Rather than steaming vegetables, I prefer to saut? them with seasoning to give the vegetables that extra juicy sweet taste.

Fruits

Now fresh fruits are the best kind here. If you are going for canned fruits, then ensure that they are don't have added sugar in them. Mind you not all fruits are low in calories. There are certain kinds of fruits that are very high in calories as well as in cholesterol. One example of this is the infamous pungent 'Durians' found in South East Asia. So if weight loss is your gaol, stay away from this exotic 'King Of Fruits'.

Protein

We all love proteins! They are the kind of food that we love to devour and we can't seem to get enough of them! KFC, Big Macs, Whoppers...the mere mention of these names is enough to make us salivate. Sad to say, we can't have everything. Losing weight require us to eat less of these greasy kind of food and consume more lean meat. A good substitute will be white turkey meat or skinless chicken.

Dairy Products

Go for low fat cheese and milk instead of full cream milk. These are all great sources for calcium and can be included as part of your low calorie diet.
