A low carbohydrate diet should include many foods with lean protein such as meat, fish, and eggs. Aside from that, it should also include large amount of fats, including saturated fats. Looking into the low carb food list and following a low carb diet can provide you with lots of health benefits. Take note that using a low carb food list can help you get rid of the bad cholesterol in your body and it can control the levels of blood glucose, which makes it beneficial to those suffering from diabetes as well. Other benefits of low carbohydrate foods include rapid weight loss, decreased level of blood sugar, improved triglycerides, improved insulin sensitivity, controlled blood pressure, and increased good cholesterol. Opting for this kind of diet has potential effects as well, such as fewer cravings for sweet foods, increased level of energy, improved emotion and moods, better mental concentration, improved dental hygiene and no compulsive or emotional eating.

Low carb food list usually include foods such as fruits, vegetables and nuts. Green, leafy vegetables that contain low amount of carbohydrates can also be included in your list. Fish, meat, eggs, and dairy products such as cheese, cream, and butter can also be included in a low carbohydrate diet. Fresh fishes are great source of protein and are highly recommended in a low carbohydrates diet. The fish that should be included in the low carb food list are Alaskan halibut, wild-caught salmon, sardines, orange roughy, trout, anchovies, and mackerel and Chilean sea bass. Shellfish such as shrimp, crab, oysters, and lobsters can be consumed at least once a week. Meats such as wild game and lean red meet can also be included in your diet and can be consumed at least once or twice a week. Beef that are grass-fed and is not treated with hormones or antibiotics, internal organs of goat such as liver, heart, pancreas, and bone marrow can also be included in your menu and consumed up to 2 times per week.

Certain herbs should be included in the low carb food list as well. These herbs, condiments, and flavoring include fresh garlic, ginger, turmeric, and cinnamon. Various anti-inflammatory spices as well as anti-oxidants can be included in a low-carbohydrate cooking such as oregano, dill, thyme, and sage. Oils that can be included in your menu are omega-3 fatty acids, canola, and flaxseed and walnut oil.
