It is a proven fact based on nationwide statistics that 65% of Americans are overweight. Being overweight to morbidly obese raises very serious health issues such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, diabetes, increased chances for heart failure and decreases your life span. Out of the percentage of people that are overweight many already have most if not all the above health issues.
Most Obesity problems started at childhood. Dr. Besser stated that the CDC showed that from 1980 - 2006 that 5% of children were overweight and grew to 12% by 2006. One way to avoid obesity in children is eating good healthy foods. Repetition is the key that as a child grows and develops so does their taste buds develop for certain foods. Most important is daily activity which allows the child to get plenty of exercise.
Most adults who are obese today were overweight as a young child and as they grew to adulthood so did their weight issues. It is also a proven medical fact that most of these adults have the health issues of high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels (LDL levels should range from less than 100 to 129) and Type 2 Diabetes. The good news is that you can diminish your health issues and reduce all of these levels by changing what you eat in making healthier food choices, portion control and physical exercise. There are a lot of great diet plans on the market today to help people change their lives, regain their health and increase their activity levels with physical fitness. We have all heard the myth that "diets do not work". The fact is that diet plans do work - people fail. They fail because they did not get the instant weight loss results they wanted and will generally quit following a diet weight plan or the plan they chose was not right for them.
