Best Diet Tips for Fast Weight Loss

I just overheard a somewhat overweight guy saying "it's Friday evening, I just got the kids to bed and now I'd love to have a glass of rum but I won't drink before I am down to 220 pounds... which will happen perhaps some time in year 3011". Unfortunately I don't know this person. I really wanted to go and ask him about his ways of trying to lose all that weight. My best guess is that he's trying to avoid all the foods he likes, eat too little and dream about better days when he will be free to eat enough not to be hungry and whichever foods he wants to again. And since he says "year 3011", suggesting that the weight loss is happening slowly or not at all, it is likely that he will gradually slip into his old eating habits again before reaching his goal.

And even if he does stick to his diet and what happens next? He goes off the diet, has his glass of rum and whatever else he has been dreaming about during the long months, even years of dieting.. and gains all the weight back! Sad, isn't it. And so common! This is the way we have been told to lose weight and many people still follow these tips since they don't know about anything else.

I also wanted to tell this guy that low-calorie diets are not the best ways to lose weight! They can lead to good long-term results if you keep following them, but for many people they are too limiting and extreme, and are unhappy while following them. Low-calorie diets can also cause nutritional deficiencies since they are lacking most of the vital fats and other nutrients.

Luckily you don't have to start a low-calorie diet if you are after losing some pounds. There are other, better ways to do it! You can start practicing something called intuitive eating, reduce your sugar and carbohydrate intake or both. While the low-carb approach might take some thinking and learning in the beginning, there are numerous different low-carbohydrate diet plans to follow, which makes the learning period easier. It will definitely be worth the trouble! You will lose weight fast while eating as much as you want to! No more strict eating rules or food cravings. The idea is to make a permanent dietary change, not go on some quick diet. The latest research also shows that long-term low-carbohydrate diets are good for your cholesterol levels and therefore better for your heart.
