Is a Low-Fat Diet What You Need For Weight Loss? Or Have You Been Suckered by the Food Industry?

Sadly, the medical profession will convince you that yes, lowering your fat intake will cause you to lose fat and create a healthy body. And it even seems convincing and logical. Unfortunately, science simply does not support this logical idea. Indeed, the exact opposite appears to be true.

Metabolic researcher Captain Charles Gray, MD; ran several interesting studies, one with pigs (who have the metabolic system most closely resembling humans), and finally with humans. In the first study, a twelve week cycle using two groups of pigs was conducted. The first group dieted on this diet:

7-10% Fat

70-74% Carbohydrates

And the remainder - Protein.

The second group of pigs had a diet that was exactly the opposite:

7-10% Carbohydrates (Think bread & sugar)

70-74% Fat.

The remainder - Protein.

Now - everyone who's ever been raised on traditional weightloss methods will immediately presume that the first group of pigs would be healthier, right? But the results of the testing showed a different result... The first group of pigs (Low-Fat Diets!) were put on a treadmill, but only 30% of them were able to complete the test - 70% of them failed. The second group of pigs, who ate plenty of fat, but very low carbs - 80% of them finished the treadmill test, and on average, ran a third longer than the other group.

What's even more amazing is that the difference was almost certainly far more than this - since the researchers got tired after 5 hours, and stopped the second group of pigs, even though they were still going strong on the treadmill! So science refutes the common wisdom.

In the human studies - the subjects ate the same sort of diet as the second group of pigs, 70-74% fat (50% of which was saturated fat - butter, cheese, and meat), 7-10% carbs, and the rest protein. The resulting tests showed exactly the opposite from what your doctor would tell you - their blood triglycerides (a major factor in heart disease) fell rapidly. 70% of the participants had their good cholesterol (HDL's) increase, and their bad cholesterol (LDL's) decrease. These results came even though the subjects were eating at least 10 times the recommended levels of cholesterol.

If traditional medicine and foklore about healthy eating habits were accurate, perhaps we wouldn't have such a high percentage of obese people in the United States - what do you think?
