Popular Fad Diets - Why Are They Bad?

If you're wanting to lose weight then you have probably come across many diets that claim you can lose weight fast. Are these popular fad diets going to work for you? Are they going to be safe and effective? Here are a couple of fad diets and understanding why they're are bad and downright dangerous.

With dozens of popular fad diets out there, they seem to come and go quickly. This can just cause more and more confusion for the people that really do want to lose weight.

From the the Grapefruit diet, which dates back to the 1930's, The No/Low Carb diets of the Maker Plan which advocates eating foods that they ate in Biblical times. All these diet are usually based on once certain food or food group which can usually leave your body under nourished.

There is a reason why we live longer these day, as opposed to 80 or 2000 years ago and that's because we have the variety of accessible foods our bodies can flourish on. Conversely, abuse that right by feeding it crap, and you will live a shorter life due to fat weight and/or cholesterol problems.

Then there is the Lemonade plan that aims to clear out toxins from the digestive tract or the Cabbage Soup diet, both of which amount to extremely low calorie intakes, in which your body ends up running dry, much like a car running on its last few drops of fuel.

The most common feature (not benefit) of these popular fad diets is they usually seems to be good for short term weight loss, which is useless when people are trying to lose weight for good. Because they tend not to provide the balance of calories from essential vitamins and minerals that you're body needs. they can't be continued long term.

Since popular fad diets advocate the elimination of whole food groups, many of these plans come with nutritional concerns. You're better of not starting and eating plan that doesn't contain a balance of recommended daily nutritional requirements.

If you want slim down and considering dieting, measure it up with the basic principles of healthy weight loss, and ensure that you're not forced to change eating habits in ways that can put your general health and well being at risk.
